Mian Muhammad Mansha is a well-known Pakistani industrialist and ranked in top five richest men of the country. He is better known as an entrepreneur in banking sector of the country as he is running the largest banking group (largest branch network in the country) MCB bank. Along with this he is the CEO of Nishat Group of companies Limited. He has an honor of being the only Pakistani person who was invited for a special lunch by the financial times.
He was born on Dec, 1, 1947 (aged 67) in a wealthy family at Chiniot, Punjab, Pakistan. He took a brilliant start from textile sector by starting joining Nishat Mills at Faisalabad (the premier hub of textile industry in Pakistan). He earned business degree from London and formally took part in to business and entrepreneurial activities. He then, on the basis of personal interest, took over the MCB bank. It was difficult task to win the bid in presence of several private sector rivals. He only won the bid but also he is now successful to maintain it as a largest bank of the country with 1208 branches nationwide. He has recently commenced a partnership with Maybank of Malaysia which has acquired 25 percent shared in MCB bank limited. However nobody has gotten the reason behind privatizing the MCB bank in the regime of Nawaz Sharif in 1991. Yet, it is a mystery all over.
Mr. Mansha intends to acquire a bank in Indonesia and Middle East with his personal assets equal to $700 million. Mansha group of industries has recently owned an automobile leasing company in Kazakhstan. Newer projects include commencing several infrastructure and developmental projects with the partnership of government of Pakistan such as constructing sea ports and developing the power plants.
Mian Muhammad Mansha is the only Pakistani who appears in the board of directors of 46 companies in Pakistan. Being the richest and wealthy person, he is one of the most influential and dominant personality non-politically. On March 23, 2004, Mian Mansha was awarded by a prestigious civil award known as sitara-e-imtiaz in the regime of president Musharraf. In the first quarter of 2010, Mian Mansha became the first ever Pakistani who hit the rich list of Forbes. According to it, he is first Billionaire Pakistani ever on the board of history.
Mian Mansh’s Nishat Mills limited holds a distinctive honor of being a largest textile export firm in Pakistan. The products of Nishat are demanded by almost all developed countries. He also owns a domestic charter plane service known as Pakistan Aviators & Aviation Limited. In London, he owns the Mayfair which is an English St James’s Hotel and Club located in London.
Mian Mansha was married to Naz Saigol, who also belongs to a rich and prominent industrialist family. He now has five children: three sons (Mian Raza Mansha, Mian Umar Mansha, and Mian Hassan Mansh) and two daughters (Sheza Mansha and Huma Mansha). All of his children were provided with elite education form world class educational institutions.
